Another option is to purchase the vehicle. This is great for those drivers who develop a bond with their vehicle and can’t part with it. All you’ll have to do is buy it for its residual value. It’s a smart move, as its residual value is often less than its current book value.

Finally, you’re free to re-lease your vehicle. This gives you the option to extend the current lease for a limited time, or to just re-lease the vehicle entirely. With the latter, you’re starting off with what is essentially a used-car lease, making your monthly payment possibly lower than before.
